We have an impressive list of experts registered with the site already, and at least 1000+ more going to be approved by us over the next two weeks.

We are currently limiting the launch to a network of friends, families, and well wishers. We are still giving finishing touches and working on a few bugs as well.

http://MentorEdge.com - HelloExpert's first SaaS platform launch

Its with a great pleasure I am posting here that we most recently launched HelloExpert's first SaaS platform- http://mentoredge.com.

MentorEdge Platform connects mentors and aspiring entrepreneurs across India. We strongly beleive that MentorEdge will provide much needed flexibility and convenience to mentors who can now offer mentoring help from the comfort of home or office.

Over the next several months, MentorEdge is expected to provide remote and highly interactive online mentoring sessions to hundereds of entrepreneurs via all browser based features such as voice, video, text chats with the facility of availing video, audio and text chat transcripts.It also comes with Live Q&A Feeds, a feature that will be immensely helpful to entrepreneurs in staying engaged with thier mentors, anytime anywhere!

Updates.....

Friends,  I have a good news and bad news to share:

First, the good news. We have come out of limited beta testing and have now started sending out registrations to all the experts and companies who signed up for invitation. If you haven't received one, you can expect to receive registration email from us in the next one week period. Please ensure you publish your profile to start serving customers the moment we launch to customers.

Second, the bad news. We couldn't travel to NY City to participate in the TechCrunch Disrupt event.This was due to really unavoidable and very rare logisitcs problems. We know it doesn't explain fully but we have put this all behind and are focusing on the successful customer launch. Hey, we are also happy with the recognition we received from TechCrunch.

Watch out this space for more exciting updates to follow in the next couple of weeks.

HelloExpert is going to New York City!

Friends, we are very pleased to inform you that HelloExpert has been invited to the upcoming TechCrunch Disrupt event, to be held in New York City from May 24th to 26th.

Efforts are underway to do a limited public beta launch from the event. As you may be aware, TechCrunch events have been launch pads for many successful start ups since 2007.

Updates from the HelloExpert Team!

It’s been a while since we have posted here. It’s for a good reason:-); we have been working very hard to ensure that we start sending out the invites.

Here are three updates from the team.

First, we will start sending out invitations to signed up experts from April 15th onwards. As the response has been overwhelming, we will be sending out the invites in phases. If you haven’t received one, please be patient and we will send one. If you feel like writing to us, please do reach us at support@helloexpert.com

Second, I would like to share some feedback we have been receiving from around the world. For privacy reasons, we are mentioning them as anonymous feedback points:

Third, a couple of experts complained that they were not able to see the invitation screen properly. We figured out that its a miss from our last fix that we didn’t test it on IE 7.0. We fixed it and since then its been working well on IE 7.

It’s really heartening to see an expert from Atlanta, USA wrote several emails and helped us narrow the problem to IE 7.  Thanks so much Sir, if you are reading this blog.

As we launch www.HelloExpert.com for private beta expert sign ups, I want to explain how the concept of HelloExpert is going to fundamentally change the way we think of seeking credible help or advice.

All of us face problems in our day to day life. Most of the times, we feel compelled to seek advice from someone that we know or trust. We therefore tend to bank on our personal and professional network to seek an expert advice. Besides the fact that getting right expert advice is a time consuming process, it’s also difficult to spot the right person to seek help and discuss private and confidential  matters!

HelloExpert provides you credible expert help from the comfort of your home or office. Using HelloExpert, you can now seek free and personalized help anytime, anywhere.

Here are some scenarios the way we see how people around the world are going to use HelloExpert:

Free Help:

  • Jim has a problem on the relationships. He uses HelloExpert’s search engine to find out if anybody had faced similar problem and received advice online. HelloExpert’s search engine makes the information available from those handpicked forums, communities and help boards that focus on relationship matters.

Free Assisted Help:

  • Sara has a personal tax issue that can be discussed publicly. She needs immediate advice from a personal tax expert. She posts the question on HelloExpert’s live QA feed. HelloExpert’s QA feed is accessed by a number of experts via HelloExpert, email, Gtalk, and twitter. Sara gets quick answers from experts in a couple of hours.

Personalized Help:

  • Tom is in UK and needs to speak with a divorce attorney from his home town in California, USA. He has a few questions that need immediate clarity. He spots a divorce attorney on HelloExpert with high customer feedback ratings. He sets up a quick 15 min secure and confidential video chat with the attorney to clarify his doubts
  • Michelle wants to know what it takes to get a Rhinoplasty (Nose Job) done. She doesn’t want to discuss with her friends as she finds it extremely personal. She finds a cosmetic surgeon available live on HelloExpert and connects with him via live video meeting to get all the information she wants; right from risks to cost of a nose job
  • John needs immediate pair programming help on Java. John is impressed with Satish’s profile on HelloExpert. Satish is a brilliant java programmer from India and available online on HelloExpert. John gets into a video meeting with Satish, and shares his desktop to do the pair programming; all at the click of a button on the browser- no software to install.
  • Mike is a recently laid off manager from a Fortune 500 company. Mike suspects that his resume is not helping him find the new job. He seeks quick help from HelloExpert’s career coach to help him write a better resume. He gets highly interactive resume writing help from the expert using HelloExpert’s document sharing feature
  • Richard is an exporter. He has a few questions on exporting goods to India and would like to speak with a HelloExpert’s trade facilitation expert in India. Richard uses HelloExpert’s voice meeting option to speak with the expert. Richard realizes that its simple and much cheaper (cheaper than Skype) to speak with experts from international locations
  • Singapore based Dr. Suu Ki has a rare cardiac surgery case that she wants to consult with another cardiac surgeon, who is listed on HelloExpert with excellent credentials. The US surgeon has indicated that he is available only via email. Thanks to HelloExpert, she connects with the surgeon in USA via HelloExpert’s paid email consultation feature. She uploads the high resolution scan and other needed documents to seek advice. She gets the email response in 24 hours from the US based surgeon.
